My MK1 Swedish Golf is for sale. Very original. Original 1.6 carb engine still running on its Swedish emissions set up. Very quick, happily cruise on motorways albeit in 4th gear. Keeps up with modern traffic, even overtake them. Original front and rear panels, no front or rear shunt, or sides for that matter. Still has it's factory orange tag at front, paper sticky label on rear panel. Original floors, boot floor, bonnet, doors, boot, quarters. Only things I have changed is new front wings, New outer sills, New inner/Outer rear arches. Resprayed in the original Alpine White. Engine has been serviced, new water pump. Original fuel pump, Carb, radiator, no mods - if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Roughly 118000 miles on it, (still running KPH clocks) 1st owner for 4 years, then a lady owner for 34 years, then imported from Sweden. The guy did the NOVA but nothing else until I bought it late 2022. Spent 3 months doing all the work, new brakes all round, bearings, fuel lines, hoses, fuel lines, bushes etc. I have fitted a deep dish aftermarket steering wheel and an 8 ball gearknob but I still have the originals. Currently on coilovers. I love the stance but hate the ride on our rubbish roads. On a perfect road it is awesome handling, but crappy surface roads it's quite violent. I have new standard shocks with -60mm springs on them, which I originally had on but it was like driving a trampoline. They will come with the sale. The alloys are Lenso BBS reps 7.5x16 with 195/45/16 tyres with like new tread on them. I don't do a lot of mileage. Spacers front and rear with locking bolts. The bumpers are modified late mk1 with early mk 1 end caps. Full GTi aftermarket exhaust with 'straightened' tail pipe. Sounds lovely. Only exterior mods are eyebrow spoiler and GTi front spoiler. Front screen has been replaced at some point. There is a chip but it is not in the driver's vison. As a frequent visitor to Europe the Golf has been faultless. It turns heads everywhere we go and it is super reliable. The biggest journey was a 1200 mile Germany road trip. As it sits outside, it is exposed to the elements, some small spots of rust has come back but it's still presentable as it is. If I still own it in 4 years I still wouldn't sort it out, it's very minor. There are no speaker holes in the door cards or parcel shelf. The rear cards were peeling and I tried to restore them but had no luck so I made my own cards and put my speakers there. JVC CD player in dash. I will give you the original rear cards and vinyl. I will personally drive anywhere in the UK to deliver if my fuel costs and train ticket home is covered, or if you don't want the alloys, we can knock off £400 but I will have to put the original 13 inch steels on with Swedish metal studs tyres which would mean trailering it at extra cost. The 13's and other suspension will come with the car anyway. I would prefer you view the car first rather than buying blind. Any questions, please ask
